Fur-You is all about creating garments that celebrate the bond between pets and their humans. Clara here is looking fabulous in one of our hand-printed designs—because dogs deserve to wear art too.

At Fur-You, we believe clothing is more than just fabric—it's a form of self-expression, a wearable piece of art. Whether it's the colours we dye our hair or the prints we design for our garments, creativity runs through everything we do.

Fur-You started as a play on words—For You, but with a twist, because it's for both you and your furry best mate. Whether you see yourself as their devoted companion or proud pet parent, there's no denying that spoiling them is as much a joy for us as it is for them. Seeing their tail wag, their excitement when they wear something special—it's the little moments that matter.

Our love for dogs runs deep. Long before Fur-You, our founder was best known for teaching tricks to the working kelpies on her grandparents' property—despite them being bred purely for herding. To her delight (and to her grandfather's dismay), they soon mastered jumping the cattle grate and following the kids beyond the farm. That passion for dogs never left, and today, it fuels every design, every stitch, every print we create.

Meet Mel

Mel Sommerville is a textile designer, screen printer, artist, and mindful maker whose work bridges craftsmanship, creativity, and conscious living. With a background in fashion and textiles design, Mel has built a career dedicated to quality, individuality, and slow creation.

Yet as she learned more about the environmental impact of the fashion industry, she felt called to do things differently. Inspired by her dog Charlie—an anxious soul who finds calm in the gentle embrace of her screen-printed tees and hoodies—Mel began exploring how thoughtful design could bring comfort and connection.

That exploration evolved into her creative practice and the foundation of Fur-You, where her love for art, sustainability, and mindful making continues to shape everything she creates. Today, every piece is made with the same care and intention that Charlie inspired—designed to bring comfort, joy, and a little extra love to the pets (and people) who wear them.

The Craft Behind Fur-You

Screen printing is at the heart of Fur-You, and it's all done in-house. From the first sketch to setting up the screens, to manually printing each piece before it's cut and sewn—there's nothing like the thrill of seeing an idea come to life. We don't just design our prints; we handcraft them, making each piece feel like a work of art.

From my first screen print in the textile studio to hand-printing every Fur-You design today, the thrill of transforming art into wearable pieces has never faded. Each garment is personally screen-printed in our studio, making every piece a labour of love.

Beyond the aesthetics, we are committed to making conscious choices. Every Fur-You garment is not just designed in Australia, but made here too. We source materials that are as friendly to the earth as they are comfortable for your dog because we believe that style and sustainability can—and should—go hand in hand.
